Autumn Term 2007
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the first Kids For Jesus prayer newsletter covering the run up to Christmas.
We'd like to thank all of you who individually or through their cell groups have agreed to pray for the children's work at St. James.
As this is the first of these newsletters we've got some general things we'd like you to pray for and also some specifics.
Earlier this year the Kids for Jesus leaders got together for a training session on a Saturday afternoon in the church room and identified a number of aims for the children's work. We ask that you pray for these aims:
To help children become part of the church.
To teach the Gospel.
To help children know Jesus.
To help children understand the Bible.
To help children grow in their faith.
We ask that you remember the people who lead and help to run the children's activities each week:. Please pray that God will fill them with his Holy Spirit and guide them as they prepare for each week's activities and also as they lead the activities on a Sunday.
Autumn programme starting in September
October – as the children find out more about Jesus through the stories he told about God's love for, and desire to rescue, his people.
November – as we explore what it is like to act faithfully for God in difficult times.
December – as we learn about God's goodness and faithfulness through the birth of Jesus.
Children
All of the children as they start a new year at play group or school.
Kids For Jesus training days on 15 th September and later on in November.
The diocese Tiddlywinks conference on the 13 th October 2007.
Those praying for the children and youth work
We give thanks to the Lord for all those that are already and those who will be praying for our children and youth work. We thank you Jesus for all these people whose hearts you have placed our children and young people upon. We ask that you support them as they pray for our aims, the youngsters, the team, the programme and all of the events happen in the future. Amen
Next Newsletter
This should be out just before Christmas, in the meantime please join us on the 4 th Sunday of each month from 09:30 – 10:00am in the church room to pray for the youth and children's work that St James is involved with.
If there is anything related to the children you would like to be mentioned in the next newsletter or prayed for on the 4 th Sunday please let the team know.
God Bless
